In Labor of the Promise

Jhn 16:21"A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world"

You may be in the midst of everything that could go wrong does go wrong.  And it may be difficult to believe that "God keeps His promises" when one wave of events after another crash against the shores of life leaving you grasping for something to hold onto.  But you've been carrying your promise for a while and you knew (as being pregnant with a child) the promise "Would have to come forth!"

The things that should be working right now aren't:  The job security you thought you once had is in jeopardy, the shut off notices have begun, the Dr's report is not the one you'd hoped for, that "Sure thing" is a bust and you are experiencing one tidal wave of trouble after another.  To make matters even worse, the atmosphere in your home is full of tension and the urge to resist the "blame game" is overwhelming.  (Press pause:  You were never meant to put your trust in man, but God only:   Psa 118:8 "[It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."   Recognize the attack of the enemy to bring division during this time.  Just as a woman  in labor at the point of intense contractions will often begin to take out her pain and frustration on the father of the child, the urge to do the same now must be suppressed)

What you feel is real.  There's no denying the facts are what they are.  You may have even contributed to the trouble you are now afflicted with.  But in these times, it is important to remember that the same  Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, will also give you life.  Rom 8:11 "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also *quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."  What you are experiencing,  though it seems to be  taking you out,  is actually the "Labor of the Promise".

You must bear down, hold on to the hand of The Lord and allow the Holy Spirit to be your spiritual birthing coach right now.  Decree, declare and meditate on what God's word says about you and not what you see or feel:

Isa 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue [that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness [is] of me, saith the LORD.

Isa 53:5But He [was] wounded for our transgressions, [He was] bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace [was] upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

Phl 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:

Phl 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

Psa 34:19 Many [are] the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

2Ti 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

This is in no way saying that we don't have a responsibility in this.  However, your present pain is ushering in your promise.  And if you will seek the Lord and not man, He will lead, protect, comfort  and deliver you.  You knew you were pregnant with promise.  You knew it was by the word of the Lord spoken over your life.  Don't give up now!  You've come to far.  Fight for your promise!  Believe God is faithful to fulfill everything He has spoken over you.  Don't let the spirit of strife take over your home.  Fight to stay in "agreement"  Mat 18:19 "Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."

You must hold on,  bear down,  and "Push" out your Promise!  This present wave is not going to overtake you.  You've been here before and remember when you came out on the other side how you'd wished you would have believed more, trusted more and rested more?  Well this time you can.  Trust God and the good plan He has for your life.  This is not unto death, this is unto "Life"!  You are in the Labor of the Promise!  Endure & Believe!
